Centering Yoga With Liz

“Centering is a verb” ~M.C. Richards

Centering Yoga with Liz is dedicated to the memory of Liz's mother, Ann Reynolds, who passed away in 2021. Ann was a woman of profound inner wisdom, practicing her faith, showing compassion towards others, and engaging in daily yoga. Liz fondly remembers the sound of her mother unrolling her mat and settling into Sukhasana at the end of her bed, delving inward through pranayama. The motivation and creation of these offerings are a tribute to Ann, honoring her teachings on the importance of centering oneself to access inner peace, wisdom, and ultimate healing.

Yoga classes at Centering Yoga with Liz are trauma-informed, centered around somatic supports, and incorporate gentle asanas (poses) and pranayama (breath) to cultivate internal strength and healing. Liz is a 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance and is in the process of receiving further certification in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method. Her expertise as a trauma psychotherapist, utilizing EMDR, polyvagal therapies, and other body-inclusive modalities, enhances the classes and supports participants in their somatic journeys on their yoga mats.

Liz actively teaches trauma-informed yoga classes within the community and integrates these practices into her therapeutic sessions to further support her clients.

Upcoming Classes With Centering Yoga With Liz

Trauma Informed Yoga Series for birthing people

This gentle yoga series is tailored for individuals who have recently given birth and up to a year postpartum.   Participants will experience the support of yoga asana (posture) and pranayama (breath) to assist in feeling increasingly embodied and present.   Instruction from a trauma informed lens values every member and the wisdom of their own nervous system to promote a supportive environment to move towards trauma resolution.

Details:

Duration: 4-week series/ ongoing monthly

Start date: Ongoing

Time: Monday mornings 9:00-10:00

Venue: Virtual platform, participants will receive google meet link prior to class once registered

Highlights:

  • It is reported that 1-7 women indicate their birth was traumatic.  This yoga series is created within a trauma informed practice with a goal to assist in regulating one’s nervous system and interrupt the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ response.

  • Gentle and supportive asanas (postures) to provide new pathways in one’s nervous system and support physical and emotional recovery from the fertility process, pregnancy, the birth, and “fourth trimester” triggers.

  • Pranayama (breath work) to realign nervous system to rest and calm, if even for a few moments during class.  Parenting is certainly not full of rest and calm and we will explore together ways that we can access this off our mats and between classes.

  • No prior yoga experience necessary

Fees:
